Following are some of my favorite links (in no particular order). While many relate to SQL Server, not all do. If you have a favorite that you’d like to share with me, please let me know in the comment below!
SQL Server Central is an awesome educational and community site for SQL Server run by my good friend, Steve Jones. It’s a central hub for the SQL Server Community for articles, forums, scripts, book reviews, and a daily newsletter sent to subscribers.
PASS Data Community Summit is a global community of data professionals with a free membership to gain access to peer-based technical content spanning architecture, data management, analytics, and professional development delivered in various online and in-person formats. Local chapters exist in many cities throughout the world! Here are the ones I have been involved with the most:
-
- IndyData (formerly IndyPASS) — Indianapolis, Indiana
- Utah SQL Server Group — Salt Lake City, Utah
Conferences are a great way to network and to learn more. In addition to the annual PASS Data Community Summit, here are a few of my favorites:
-
- SQL Saturday
- Data Saturdays
- Developer Conferences
- Postgres Conferences
- Database and Technology Applications Data Summit
- DataVersity also has several conferences for data architecture, data governance, data architecture, and more.
Brent Ozar is a site containing a wealth of information, scripts, free tools, training material, and videos.
SQL Pictures is a site dedicated to photos of SQL Saturday, Summit, or chapter events.

I also like to read various non-technical books, especially the gems from Cedar Fort Publishing. Check them out and find something you like!
Unfortunately, I do not know how to access the settings that would disable that. I do apologize for the issue. I receive a TON of spam and I am sorry that you get afflicted with it as well. I will research it and enable it as soon as possible.
